RUTGERS CANTONESE CLUB

Our Mission Statement
Our mission statement is to promote and share the Cantonese culture with the diverse student body of Rutgers University and its surrounding communities. RCC also emphasizes reaching out to both Cantonese American students and also Cantonese students who have come to the U.S. to pursue their studies. We strongly believe in integrating the two groups of students together to share all of our various experiences. Although we all come from different backgrounds and upbringings, Rutgers Cantonese Club provides an opportunity and medium for students to embrace and get in touch with our Cantonese roots in a fun and supportive setting.
ABOUT RCC
Rutgers Cantonese Club is a social and cultural student organization established in 2006. We try to provide an opportunity for networking, community-building, leadership training, and identity-forging, which are all critical to the future of the new generation of Cantonese Americans. As an organization, we also explore and celebrate the Cantonese culture and its holidays throughout the year. RCC hosts and sponsors numerous events around campus and works with other Asian American student organizations throughout the university year.
WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
Our organization stresses the importance of having a family atmosphere throughout our programs and places emphasis on building close bonds with our members. One way to accomplish these goals is through our organization's family program. This program does not just concentrate on forming bonds between the individuals of each family, but rather a group of people. The family program allows us to have a very strong bond within the organization itself.
