A Big and Little relationship is a mentorship. The Big's purpose is to guide their new Little through college life and share their experiences to help their Little. In return, the Little is to learn all they can from their Big, so they can pass it on to their own Littles one day, continuing the lineage and carrying on their Big's legacy. P.S.
